self expression Exploring oneself by making images and playing with clay can be a great way to express and record one's feelings. It is also a great new method of communicating with others.
personal insight The process of creating something in pencil, crayon, ink, paint or clay can be revealing to people as they work - irrespective of the end result. Over a period of time, changes in technique and use of colour will suggest varying energy levels and mental focus. relaxation Experimenting with colour, line and form can be a perfect way to focus the mind on things other than our daily worries or challenges. Setting aside a time to express our unique creativity allows us to surrender temporarily our major roles in life (as parent, carer, money-earner, etc) to explore the parts of ourselves, uncared for by daily routine and to regroup physically, mentally and emotionally in a gentle way.
