life coaching

life coachingAs a nurse, therapist, yoga teacher and mother, I have over the years had the opportunity to support many kinds of people in different states of physical and mental health; as a single parent I have also had to develop coping skills to manage and maintain my own energy at home and at work.

It is good to be grateful to the many people throughout our lives who have shown us the way forward in challenging times but ultimately it is more empowering to know that we have always been responsible for who we are. Having received teachings and initiations with the Dalai Lama and training with Richard Bandler, Paul McKenna and Michael Neill, I consider that I have skills to help myself and pass onto others who feel blocked, fearful or just uninspired. The combination of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and my long time study of the Buddhist Dharma have provided me with a valuable foundation for supporting others holistically, i.e. recognising the body, mind and soul.

Unlike psychotherapy which might focus on a wounding past in order to understand the now, the life-coaching method I adopt takes as its start-point, the present moment and encourages a person to accept oneself and work out ways to move forward comfortably into the future. I like to combine what I have learnt from my background in Buddhism, Yogic philosophy and NLP to offer a unique combination of skills - allowing you to take an overview of your life whilst still maintaining energy, purpose and meaning. I offer this support on an individual or group basis, for...

peace of mind
I might use meditation and breathing techniques to quieten the over-stimulated mind, allowing the body to rest in the present moment in order to restore its energy. I could also use image making or clay work if preferred.

cultivating abundance
Learning techniques for attracting more positive energy and working on the idea that happiness fosters success rather than the other way round.

overcoming fears and phobias
Using methods to understand the catalyst for and identify the body’s response to negative emotions and how best to control the physical symptoms by building up more positive, supportive habits.
